We had to make a change to the way we provide off-campus access to library resources. We took care of most of these changes in the background, but you will need to take action if you have certain types of library links in Canvas, your syllabus, or other course or promotional materials.
Which links do I need to change?
You will only need to change links that include ezproxy.losrios.edu.
- For example, a link to a JSTOR article: https://ezproxy.losrios.edu/login?url=https://www.jstor.org/stable/26929488
- This also includes Films on Demand-supplied embed code. If the code is not updated students will be unable to view the embedded video.
How should I update the link?
Swap out the existing prefix for the new prefix: https://arclosrios.idm.oclc.org/login?url=
- For example, if you are teaching a course at ARC and the link to an ebook in your Canvas course is:
- You will change the link to:
- If you are updating Films on Demand embed code, it is best to use the Canvas Films on Demand app rather than copy-pasting code from Films on Demand. See the ARC library Films on Demand guide for step by step directions for using the FOD app in Canvas to embed streaming video from this database in your Canvas course.
Note: you can also find/go to the resource in the database or OneSearch and get the updated URL from there.
Make it ARC
Unlike our old prefix, the new one is college-specific. This means that ARC students and employees can use ARC's prefix. Depending on the resource, they might also be able to use the other colleges' prefixes. But to ensure access, always use ARC's prefix when sharing links with other ARC folks.
Use the URL Converter
The form below will change the old proxy prefix to the new one, change non-ARC versions to ARC's, and add the prefix to URLs that don't already have it.
