Can the members of the public use the library at ARC?

Yes! The American River College Library is open to the public during our open hours.

Visitors are welcome to come in, browse print materials, and use open study spaces.

However, certain services are limited:

  • Library computers are only available to currently enrolled ARC students. (Los Rios students not enrolled at ARC can use computers in the LRC Computer Lab on campus)
  • Printing and photocopying are available to currently enrolled Los Rios students and employees via their PaperCut account
  • Campus Wi-Fi access is only available to Los Rios students and employees with a valid login
  • Borrowing materials is limited to currently enrolled students, employees and ARC Alumni Association members
  • Group study rooms are first-come, first-served and open to all visitors, though current students and groups have priority. See our Study Room Policy for details.

Looking for computer or internet access?

We recommend visiting the Carmichael Branch of the Sacramento Public Library, located nearby. They offer free internet access, public computers, study space, and a wide range of services for community members.
