Why can’t I access my library digital textbook?

First, see our guide on accessing a digital book for step-by-step instructions.
You must sign in at the yellow ribbon in the book record and then click the “Digital Textbook” link to open it.

Common reasons you may still have trouble:

  • User limit reached. All library digital textbooks have a limit of how many people can use them at one time. If all copies are in use, you’ll see “user limit reached.” - Add yourself to the waitlist (you’ll get an email when it’s your turn).
  • Not enrolled yet / between semesters. You must be enrolled in at least one class in the current semester and sign in with your W# and password to access digital textbooks from the library. If classes are not in session and/or you are enrolled for the next semester, your access will resume about two weeks before the new semester begins.
  • Browser or login issues. If a book doesn’t load or if you are enrolled and having trouble logging in, try switching to Chrome, clear cookies/cache, or using a private/incognito window.
  • Access codes you purchased. If your professor or bookstore has given you an access code for MyLab, Cengage, etc., the library cannot fix those codes. Contact the bookstore or your professor.

📌 Important to know about library digital textbooks:

  • They cannot be printed, downloaded, or emailed. You must read digital textbooks online in your browser.
  • They are viewable on mobile devices, but for best results, open them directly from OneSearch (not a direct link).

If you are enrolled and still can’t get in, contact the library. Tell us your W#, the book title, and what error you saw (a screenshot helps).
