Why can’t I log in to the library databases?

Common reasons:

  • Students – not enrolled / between semesters. You must be fully enrolled (not wait-listed; fees paid) in at least one class in the current term (fall, spring, or summer). Access ends soon after a semester ends. If classes are not in session and/or you are enrolled for the next semester, your access will resume about two weeks before the new semester begins.
  • Employees – not currently active. Access requires an active contract or assignment. If you are temporary staff/adjunct faculty and your contract ended or has not yet been processed for the new term, your access will not resume until HR updates your record.
  • Password or login issues. Make sure your Los Rios ID (W#) and password have not expired - ARC Password Management page
  • Canvas links. Links from Canvas may not pass your login. Start from the Library Databases page or search in OneSearch instead.
  • Browser issues. Try Chrome, clear cookies/cache, or use a private/incognito window. Be sure to fully quit and reopen the browser before signing in again.

Still getting "Access Denied"? Contact the library

Please include:

  • Your W# (student or employee ID)

  • The database or link you tried

  • A screenshot or the exact error message
