What happens if I cannot finish within the deadline?

The goal is to have as many courses with a ZTC (zero textbook cost) designation as possible for the fall 2022 semester. The college is using federal COVID relief funds (HEERF) to compensate faculty for this project and the deadline to spend that money is the end of April 2022.

It is likely that some faculty will not be finished with their projects by the time the deadline rolls around. The college is committed to supporting faculty and in return hopes that faculty will hold up their end by seeing projects through even if the fall 2022 deadline is out of reach. The project lead will work with faculty to process payments and see that projects are completed as soon as possible.

The good news is that the district and college should also soon be getting additional funding related to ZTC degree pathways in California that will likely provide additional compensation opportunities for faculty to create ZTC courses that utilize OER.
