The CRC OER Award Program is voluntary and is not a mandate. All faculty are encouraged to participate because adopting Open Educational Resources and converting your courses to Zero Textbook Costs (ZTC) is one way to break down barriers for students, while providing meaningful academic materials. This change also creates a lasting impact not only on current students, but generations of students to come.

If you choose not to participate, you will not be penalized. Article 17 of the LRCFT Contract ensures professional protections and autonomy in selecting methods of instruction and the planning and presentation of course materials.
