Does the OER Conversion Grant payment count against FTE load?

The payment does count against FTE load for full-time faculty, but not adjunct faculty. This could impact full-time faculty if they have maxed out their teaching load.

Additional Information for Full-Time Faculty

Completion of all milestones will result in a $2500 payment which will count against your Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) teaching load. A single grant payment carries approximately .0851 FTE. The fall and spring semester limits are 1.6 and summer semester limits are .6. Other compensated professional development activities may also count towards your total load as well. This means that full-time faculty are prohibited from participating if the total FTE exceeds these limits.

You will receive payment in the semester in which you complete all milestones so it's important to communicate with your dean about this potential impact.
