Library fines and fees are charged according to our Borrowing Policies. Fines or fees may be charged for materials that were not returned by a due date, not returned when recalled for another patron, or lost/damaged. 

If you believe that you've been charged a library fine/fee that you should not be responsible for, please contact the Library Circulation desk (916) 691-7266. Staff at this phone number can review your fine/fee and give you information about what it was charged for. 

If you still feel that you should not be responsible for the fine/fee, the Library has an Appeal Form to fill out and submit. The Appeal Form outlines the reasons for which an appeal will not be granted. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email or chat with a librarian.
