Should I disinfect library books?

No, please do not disinfect books or any other library materials. This can damage the materials.

When books and other items are returned to the library, they are quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before they are lent out again. During the quarantine period, the items are kept separate from all other library materials, and staff do not touch them. If you have concerns, rather than using any disinfecting agents, please feel free to quarantine library materials for additional time.
