When I'm looking at a digital book, what does the number of files mean?

Each digital book provided by a Los Rios Library is a scanned copy of a print book in our collection. The scans are separated into PDF files for each section or chapter of the book.

When you see a number of files displayed in the digital availability, this describes the number of PDFs for this digital book. In the example below, there are 13 PDFs for the chapters or sections of this book.

The separate PDF files for each chapter or section make it easy to navigate to the portion of the book you need to read. Learn more in our Digital Books user guide
