Instructors assign one or more Research Tutorial modules according to the relevancy of each module to their course content. Most instructors build an Assignment or Quiz in Canvas where students are asked to upload the certificate of completion for each module assigned.

We encourage instructors to self-enroll in the tutorials so you can preview the content before assigning it to students. We make improvements every year, so you may want to re-enroll each fall semester by using one of the links above, which will automatically direct you to the current version.

Library Research Tutorials
Your next assignment is to complete an online tutorial in Canvas. The tutorial is part of the FLC Library Research Tutorials, a great way to learn more about the hows and whys of doing academic research.
You will enroll in the FLC Library Research Tutorials course and it will appear as one of your Canvas courses. Here are step-by-step instructions:
- Read a short summary about the Library Research Tutorials on the FLC Library website.
- From the FLC Library website, follow the link to self-enroll in the tutorials.
- Complete module 1, "What Is Research?"
- Each module will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete. Each module includes a quiz. You must earn a 75% or higher on the quiz to earn your certificate of completion for each module.
- From the certificate page, download the certificate of completion for the module (the download will be a jpg file).
- Upload your certificate of completion to complete this assignment and earn 10 points.
