Our licenses with database providers specify that only students taking courses at a Los Rios college during the current term and people currently employed by the Los Rios Community College District may access licensed content.
Some databases listed on the FLC Databases page are only available to people taking courses or employed at FLC. If you are affiliated with Los Rios but not FLC, you will be blocked from those resources.
I am a student...
If you are a student, the main reason you may be blocked from using the databases is that you are not enrolled in classes for the current term.
If the term has already begun, but you have just recently enrolled in classes, it can take a few days for database access to kick in. If you are enrolled in a future term, access will be restored shortly before the term begins. Students enrolled in a given semester are dropped from access soon after each term ends.
I am an employee...
Temporary staff and adjunct faculty are in a situation similar to students. Access to the databases will end shortly after each term, and be restored upon renewal of the temporary staff or adjunct faculty contract.
Permanent employees have ongoing access until they leave Los Rios. Access to certain databases is provided to Emeriti Association members.
Troubleshooting
If you are currently enrolled or employed, but have landed on the Access Denied page, please contact us for further troubleshooting.
