Why do Alma notices show a warning that the sender may be "impersonating a domain associated with your organization"?

Answer

Letters from Alma originate from the domain exlibrisgroup.com. But we want them to come from Los Rios, not a third party. For now, the district has told us to use the domain losrios.org, which they have registered. If you look in the email headers, they show that this domain is a "permitted sender" for our network.

Nevertheless, these warnings continue to show in Outlook. The warnings do not seem to appear in Gmail, which most students are using.

The district was not willing to implement a fix (mail relay gatway) that would make the sender actually be losrios.edu. Currently there is no plan to fix this situation. Individual Outlook users can stop this message from appearing in emails they receive by adding the email's sender to their Safe Senders list.
