What access do students have to the college bookstore during the closure?

Answer

Thank You for contacting your Los Rios Community College District Bookstores.

Due to the COVID‐19 pandemic, all Los Rios Community College bookstores are unfortunately closed to the public. Combined with recent smoke closures, the pandemic has led to slower than usual response and delivery times. Staff is working around the clock to process all orders and we appreciate your patience. To help, we are offering FREE Limited Contact/Curbside pickup, and have extended the hours to Monday through Friday from 9am – 4pm at all four Los Rios colleges. Just choose “free curbside pickup” when checking out online. This is the fastest way to get your textbooks.

Additionally, each location has a designated pick up window for walk up service, with no appointment necessary. For the safety of staff and students, we do require that you follow the COVID‐19 Social Distancing and Facial Mask guidelines. Please proceed to your campus bookstore and look for signage for pick up location.

Pro Tip: If you are taking classes at only one Los Rios college, please make sure that you select that college as your curbside pickup location in order to get your textbooks as quickly as possible.

To check the status of your order please log in to your bookstore account (If you checked out as a guest you will need to create an account using the same email provided during checkout).

Your time is valuable. The following FAQs can help you get answers to your questions as quickly as possible:

How long will it take to get my book?

For orders placed on in‐stock items that are not on back order, our goal is to process them in 24 hours. If you selected free curbside pickup, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that your order is ready for pick up. NOTE: Orders placed at one location but requested to be picked up at another will take longer to process due to nationwide USPS shipping delays (all retail shipping organizations, including large companies like Amazon.com, are experiencing similar delays). Expect an additional 3‐5 days if you are trying to pick up your book at a location different than the location you ordered from. Your confirmation email will provide additional information.

How do I cancel an order?

Email your college store (listed below) and they will work with you to process the cancellation.

How do I return a book I purchased and do not need any longer?

You can return your book during our “limited contact” pick up hours at your college bookstore or you can mail it to your college bookstore with a return request.

Where is my order?

Unfortunately, the COVID‐19 pandemic, smoke closures, and national shipping delays have led to slower than usual delivery times. We greatly appreciate your patience. It typically takes 24 hours for orders to be processed and handed off to shipping service providers (all retail shipping organizations, including large companies like Amazon.com, are experiencing similar delays). We know it’s important for you to get your materials and textbooks ASAP and are doing everything we can to expedite the parts of the process in our control.

You can always check your order status by signing into your Follett account on the bookstore website.

I heard the bookstore is closed due to Air Quality – can you just send me my book?

We are happy to say we are OPEN and have extended our pickup hours to Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday until September 11th, and will also be open Saturday, September 29th from 9am to 1pm. We can ship your books, but due to nationwide shipping delays please keep in mind that it is taking an average of 5‐7 days for them to arrive at your address. We highly recommend curbside pick up to ensure you get your textbooks as soon as possible.

The code I purchased is not working and I need help with accessing it, can you help me?

If you are having issues with your access code, please reach out to the publisher’s support team for immediate help (CONTACT INFORMATION). If they are unable to help you, please email your bookstore with the case number from the publisher’s tech support and we will exchange your code.

I purchased two of the same book by accident, what do I do?

Email your college bookstore and they will work with you to process the cancellation.

My professor says we don’t need the book anymore, what do I do?

You can return your book during our “limited contact” pick up hours at your college bookstore or you can mail it to your college bookstore with a return request.

I bought the wrong book by accident; how do I get the right one?

If the book is available in store, we can do an exchange at our pickup window. You can also return the wrong book and re‐purchase the correct book.

I can’t reach anyone when I try to call the store

We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to respond to all questions and concerns in a timely manner. We have increased staffing at all of our locations to help address student phone calls and order processing. If you call and are unable to reach a representative, we will respond as quickly as possible.

I sent an email about my order and no one got back to me

We are very sorry for delays in response time and have added extra staff to help address student concerns as quickly as possible. The COVID‐19 pandemic and recent smoke closures have led to unexpected delays in order processing and shipping and staff is working around the clock to respond to students and process all orders. We appreciate your patience..

If you have additional questions about your order, please call or email the customer service team at your college bookstore (if applicable, please include your order number in any emails):
