How do I move an item out of a process type like "mending"?

Answer

An item may be placed in a process type such as mending or copy cataloging to indicate that it is not available for checkout. When staff have completed the necessary processing and the item is ready to be circulated, it must be moved out of the process type. You can move an item out of processing by editing the item record or scanning the item.

Editing the item record

When editing the item record, select the "Process Type" drop down and select the blank process type.

Save the item record. Open or view the item record to confirm the status is "Item in Place".

Scanning the item

When completing a process type, you may use the "Scan In" feature to scan the barcode. Make sure that the "Done" button is selected to indicate the relevant process type is complete.

If the item is ready to circulate, change your location back to the Circulation desk.

Then scan in in the barcode (Fulfillment, Scan In). This will register the item as "item in place" so that it is ready to circulate.
