Q. How do I handle a Request if the Library cannot fulfill it?
There are times when a patron will request an item that the Library cannot fulfill. This may occur because the item is missing, is needed for Reserves, or for many other reasons. A Request can be cancelled by the patron if they no longer need the item. The Library can also cancel the request if it cannot be fulfilled.
In the Pick From Shelf screen, locate the request. Determine if the Library has the item and whether or not it can be requested.
If the request needs to be cancelled, select "Cancel Request".
Select a reason for the cancellation, enter relevant notes, and submit. Keep the "notify patron" box selected so that a cancellation notice will be emailed to the patron.
