When do library users get notified of overdue materials?

Answer

Overdue notifications are determined by the Overdue and Lost Loan profiles in Alma.  The profiles are configured to apply based on a combination of loan status and item policy, and run at 4:00 pm every day.

The tables in the Overdue and Lost Loan Configuration document outline the overdue notifications, blocks, and change to lost jobs for loans by item policy.

If a particular loan does not meet the criteria defined in the Overdue and Lost Loan profiles, no notice will be sent to the borrower.  If a loaned item does not include an Item Policy, the borrower will not receive overdue notifications, the item will never change to Lost, and the borrower will not have a block applied to their user account.

Users who owe fees receive an email informing them of the amount they owe on the first day of each month. This email does not show which items the fees are related to.
