Resource-type fields in Alma and Analytics are determined by MARC fields. The details are a little hard to find in documentation so are linked to below.
When a resource type is not showing as you'd expect, the most likely reason is that there is an error in the bib record, or that the wrong bib record is being used. A cataloger should investigate and fix the situation in WorldCat or Alma.
When titles contain multiple formats, the situation may be problematic. For instance, a book that contains a CD-ROM may display as electronic. Currently there is no fix for this situation.
Note that the resource type in Alma is not the same thing as the resource type in Primo.
