How many people come to the library?

Here is the number of entrances to the Learning Resource Center every month over the past twelve months:

And here is the number of daily entrances to the LRC for the last thirty days (showing open days only):

We are showing entrances rather than people because we don't have a way of knowing how many individual people come into the building. We have sensors that keep track of how many times certain thresholds are crossed. The numbers above show the number of times the front entrance threshold was crossed by people on their way in. So if a person leaves and comes back several times during the day, they will be counted separately each time they enter.

We can also think of this answer as the total number of people held in the LRC at one time. We would call this its peak occupancy. Below is a graph showing the peak occupancy of the LRC per week over the last 12 weeks.
