Why are some students unable to access their library account?
Answer
Only current students and employees can access their library account via OneSearch.
If someone is not currently enrolled in classes, or they are a temporary employee who is not currently working, or adjunct faculty without current course assignments, they might be able to get through the Single Sign-on page, but instead of seeing their account they will be redirected to the OneSearch home page.
If you are able to access user records in Alma, you can check the user's expiration date to confirm—most likely it is in the past. Only users with an expiration date set to the current day or a future date, or who don't have an expiration date (common among permanent employees) can sign in to their account in OneSearch.
If someone in this situation needs to find out what items they still need to return, they should contact the relevant library's circulation desk. Staff may easily generate an activity report that will be sent to their email address.
