Can I have a friend or relative pick up a book for me?

We require you to check out books only for yourself at the library. If the book doesn't get returned, you will be responsible for paying the replacement fee, so we need to make sure you actually got the book.

If you can't come check out the book yourself from the library circulation desk, you could use the library pickup locker instead. In order for someone else to pick up your book from the locker, you will need to provide them with the locker code you receive via email or text message. So in this case, even if we didn't see you take the book, we know whoever did had your explicit permission to do so.
